ABOUT

Ella Brew is a multimedia artist from Oregon, currently residing between Portland and Berlin.

They graduated from Bennington College in 2022, where they began their studies with a focus on the analog intersection between animation, sculpture, and painting. This intersection often resulted in colorful and kinetic objects, from which driving interests in color theory and play-based design emerged for Brew.

In reaction to the US's rapidly changing abortion access laws, Brew focused their final year on researching social, political, and emotional structures surrounding abortion. This resulted in their thesis please take.

That same year, ongoing design project BakerBrew was started with Brew's collaborator Maddie Baker. Born from shared interests in image systems, infrastructure, and found material, it explores the visual and conceptual possibilities of collection and reordering.
